Walmart does not honor weekly ads after they expire, and their pricing system automatically updates when new ad cycles begin. Unlike some retailers with grace periods, Walmart's advertised prices are strictly tied to the dates printed on the ad. However, Walmart does offer price matching on identical items from select online competitors including Amazon, Walmart.com, and a few others at the time of purchase. You need to show proof of the competitor's lower price before completing your transaction. If you miss a sale, watching for price rollbacks or checking if the item appears in the next ad cycle sometimes brings similar savings. 

Walmart can look up receipts for purchases made with credit cards, debit cards, or through the Walmart app within a certain timeframe, typically around 12 months. You'll need to provide the payment method used and valid ID at customer service. Cash purchases are much harder to track without the physical receipt since there's no electronic payment record to search. The Walmart app stores digital copies of receipts when you use Walmart Pay or scan your receipts for savings programs, which provides automatic backup documentation. Keeping the Walmart app updated with your receipt history makes returns and price adjustments significantly easier. 

Walmart does not have an automatic price adjustment policy if items go on sale after you purchase them. Once you complete a transaction, the price is final even if the item gets marked down the next day. However, some shoppers work around this by returning the item with a receipt and immediately repurchasing it at the sale price, though this requires making an additional trip and going through the return process. Walmart's savings catcher program, which automatically compared prices and refunded differences, was discontinued. Your best strategy involves timing purchases around known sale events and price rollback periods rather than expecting post-purchase adjustments.
